A one-person operation was running every estimate by phone, and the work of being the business had started to eat the work of doing the actual job.
Every booking took ten to fifteen minutes of focused attention on the phone, every time.
Calls that hit voicemail while the saw was running turned into phone tag, and phone tag into lost leads.
Every confirmed job still had to be hand-entered into a calendar after the fact.
What we built
Two pages and a single automation, with no database in between. The calendar he was already using became the system of record, and the system slipped in behind it instead of replacing it.
01
Self-serve estimator
Front of the funnel
A prospective customer punches stump count, size, and access type into the marketing site and gets an instant quote range with no phone call and no waiting. The same form picks up the quote and the contact details and submits the whole thing in one move.
02
One-shot calendar drop
Hands-off intake
Form submit fires an n8n webhook, which in turn creates a Google Calendar event on the owner's phone with the quote, the stump specs, the contact info, and the job address all attached. A push notification pings, the owner glances at the entry, and then calls to confirm. The intake is done before he picks up.
“The calendar he was already using became the system of record.”
